  2. We have visited Achanakmar in mid April last year.....and find it fascinating. We stayed at Chhaparowa, many new cottages were being built at that time. I guess building of those cottages and children park is now complete. Achanakmar seemed to me like a virgin forest. We met a gaur family while roaming through the jungle, saw many peacocks, indian rollers and a wood-pecker. We have seen something bizarre in the forest of Majhi Dongry while returning...but no one believed us. We visited 'Darra Pani' and were mesmerized by the scenic beauty of the surrounding areas.

  3. I awork for conservation and wildlife photography is my hobbie. I read about the Achanakmaar in one bookin on hunting by James Best. The name of the book was tiger days. In that he has given a beautiful description of this terrain. He also writes about Chapparva and its Baiga tribals. I have strong desire to see this reserve. What is the best time. Do the tourist have a threat from Naxals?
